Maruti Suzuki Swift is available in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol version of the hatchback is powered a 1.2-liter K Series engine with VVT, multipoint injection. This 4-cylinder DOHC motor is capable of producing a top power output of 85bhp at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 114Nm at 4000rpm. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox which sends the power to the front wheels of the hatchback.

The oil burner is the 1.3-liter multi-jet engine that churns out a maximum power output of 74bhp at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 190Nm at 2000rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels of the hatchback via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.

Is the new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2020 available in both the petrol as well as diesel or has the smart hybrid petrol been introduced to the new Swift as well? Also, is the engine different from the old versions or carried on from the previous one?
Actually, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2020 is available in both petrol and diesel with manual as well as automatic transmission. However, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and talks are that the car will be launched in India towards the end of the year.
As for the engine, both the 2019 and 2020 seem to have the same engine capacities. The engine capacity for both the cars is 1197cc and both have 4 cylinders. Maximum power is 61 kW @ 6000 rpm and maximum torque is 113 Nm @ 4200 rpm. Both the engines are also BS-6 compliant.
