In several places I have read that Ertiga by Maruti Suzuki is an SUV, some say it is a MUV or an MPV. Some claim it is a minivan. Which is the segment that Maruti Suzuki Ertiga falls under?
Also, how many passengers can it seat?

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga would fall under the segment of MUV that is a multi-utility vehicle. The engine, cabin space, and boot space are all in one compartment, i.e. it is a one-box car like an MPV. What makes it different from an MPV is its seating capacity. An MPV can seat up to 5 passengers whereas a MUV has a seating capacity of 6-8.
As for the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, seating capacity is 7 passengers.
