i. Petrol : 21.63 km/l
ii. Petrol (AGS) : 21.63 km/l
iii. CNG: 31.76 l/kg
The reason that CNG provides a better mileage than petrol is because 1kg of CNG has more energy than 1litre of petrol. The main difference lies in the difference in measuring units. Often people look at the surface figures and assume that owning a CNG car is good, deeper research will show that the only good part about owning a CNG car is that it has lesser emissions and increases engine life as it is a cleaner fuel. However, CNG is heavier and only 10 Litres can be carried, the cylinder is placed at the back of the car eating up the boot space, the cost of CNG per Kg also does not provide any monetary advantage.
