I just came across this article on a comparison of Maruti Suzuki with its competitor. Thought of sharing it here :)

Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been the leader of the compact sedan segment for a very long time now. Although Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze have tried to challenge it, they have been largely unsuccessful. Now, a new rival has emerged in the form of Hyundai Aura.

The popularity of Maruti Suzuki Dzire can be gauged from the fact that over 1.2 lakh units of the compact sedan have been sold in the April-November period of 2019-20 despite a slowdown in the market. Besides, more than 20 lakh units have been sold since its launch in India.

Coming to the Aura, Hyundai Motor India is expected to launch the vehicle in early 2020. It gets all the bells and whistles you expect a compact sedan to come with. The carmaker is aiming big on the bold design, top-notch features, impressive dimensions and powerful engine options of the Aura. But how does it fare against Maruti Suzuki Dzire in terms of specifications? Take a look.

Hyundai Aura vs Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Engine
Hyundai Aura gets three BS6-compliant engine options -- 1.0-litre Turbo GDi petrol motor making 100 PS and 172 Nm of torque, 1.2-litre MPI petrol mill delivering 83 PS and 114 Nm of torque and 1.2-litre Ecotorq diesel powertrain churning out 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. There is a standard 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines also have an automatic option.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire is powered by a BS6-compliant, 1.2-litre, K12 VVT petrol engine that makes 83 hp and 113 Nm of torque. There is also a BS4-compliant, 1.3-litre, DDiS 190 diesel motor that produces 75 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Both the mills are offered with 5-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

Hyundai Aura vs Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Dimensions
Both Aura and Dzire are 3,995 mm long. The segment leader is wider at 1,735 mm, in comparison to 1,680 mm width of the upcoming challenger. However, the Aura is 5 mm higher than the Dzire at 1,520 mm. Both the compact sedans have a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The Aura also has a bigger boot at 402 litres than the Dzire that has a 378-litre boot.

Hyundai Aura vs Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Wheels
Hyundai Aura sports 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets 15-inch precision cut two-tone alloy wheels.
